ABOUT DOCTOR TO YOU

Dr. Bruce created Doctor To You after witnessing first-hand the struggles of finding affordable care at the right time and place. Why take hours off work to be seen for a sore throat or cough, wait hours in a waiting room surrounded by other sick people, be seen for 5 minutes by a doctor who spends most of his or her time typing into a computer, and then be stuck with a massive bill? Need a vaccine/immunization for you or your children? Why not get them in the comfort of your own home and avoid the hassle and potential exposure to sick people? Doctors used to do house calls, and now Doctor to You is bringing them back!

CONVENIENCE

Dr. Bruce will come to your home or workplace to see you on your terms. Think you only need a quick 30 minute visit? Or do you want to be seen for a full hour? How about a weekend or evening appointment? You decide!

VARIETY

Need to be seen for an illness? How about medication refills or osteopathic treatment for chronic pain? Getting over a stomach bug and want a quick IV bag of fluids and vitamins to get you back on your feet? Dr. Bruce offers a multitude of services to make sure you don't have to go to 5 different doctors to get what you need.

AFFORDABILITY

Dr. Bruce's goal is to fill the gap in healthcare for people who are generally healthy, tend not to hit their insurance deductible, or don't have insurance at all. In 2017 the average insurance deductible (for an individual) was $4,358, and almost double that for families. What if you only get sick one or two times per year without any emergencies? You're likely to not even get close to that deductible, but the hospital or urgent care is charging you the same amount anyways.

What goes into a bill from an emergency department visit, which you only went to because it was the only place open at 11 p.m.? You're going to get a bill from the hospital and likely the ER doctor's medical group (hope they're in-network!). Those hospital costs can include things that have little impact on your care, such as having multiple hospital administrators, billing specialists to decipher what insurance companies require for documentation, or the dividends for the shareholders of that corporation's stocks. That's why your aspirin might cost $100 in a hospital, but only 5 cents in a store.

TRANSPARENCY

There are no hidden fees or secret costs when you're seen by Dr. Bruce. Every cost is discussed up-front and with full disclosure. If you need something extra, like a throat swab for Strep, you'll know exactly how much it will cost you, why it costs that amount (we'll even show you what we paid for it from our supplier!), and why it's recommended you should get it. Dr. Bruce will strive to only prescribe generic low-cost medications, so you're not breaking the bank on brand names.

ATTENTION

Have you ever felt like you're just a number or a diagnosis when you see a doctor? Do you wish the doctor or nurse would put away the computer, stop interrupting you, and just make eye contact? Because he doesn't take insurance, Dr. Bruce doesn't need to spend 80% of his time writing clinical notes or talking to insurance companies. Your appointment time is dedicated to listening, examining, and discussing, not typing.
